Importance of hats in Russian military history should not be underestimated. From Cossack papakhas in Russian Empire to Red Army ushankas in Soviet Union, the hat was always considered to be essential. Cossack traditions go much deeper, whereby a hat determines social standing and is valued very highly. Some of that custom carried over to the battle front and even applied to regular forces. Soldiers would keep money and important documents in their hats. Although styles were many, we have created and offer only the best replicas made of premium Persian lamb, sheepskin, rabbit and faux fur.
