Real Karakul (Persian lamb) winter papakha hat, similar to the one worn by army generals and other high ranking officers in the Russian Empire. Archive pictures show Czar Nicholas II and family accompanied by their private guard comprising Kuban Cossacks; Pyotr Wrangel, an officer in the Imperial Russian army and commanding general of the White Army in Southern Russia in the later stages of the Russian Civil War. Reproduction handmade of genuine Astrakhan fur. Extremely soft and warm. Nominal height: 9 1/2 inches (24 cm); this can be reduced by tucking the hat from the top crease; can also be customized on request. Shade and pelt characteristics may vary. Production time: 7 business days.

Just received the spotted...
Just received the spotted version of this style of papakha and it is beautiful. This to me is the most unique of the Cossack hats that I have seen. Well worth the money. We're supposed to have a rough winter and this hat will be the ideal investment. Spend the extra money and stay warm when everyone else is freezing.

The hat is very warm...
The hat is very warm, very soft, very good, but I find it a little soft: it does not keep its cylindrical shape because it seems very long to me maybe.
