Black Astrakhan fur (Persian lamb) ambassador hat without the brim, nicknamed pie hat in the Soviet Union, favored by Leonid Brezhnev and other members of the Politburo. Winston Churchill was another prominent political figure to be pictured wearing one at the Yalta Conference in 1945. Handmade by top class hatters of real Karakul, this soft and cozy fur hat with cotton lining will keep your head warm in any weather. Height: 5 3/4 inches (15 cm). Optional foldaway ear flaps (as seen on item of different style) are made of black woolen cloth and partly cover neck as well. Pelt characteristics may vary. Production time: up to 7 business days.

I purchased this hat...
I purchased this hat a year ago and it remains my favorite. Unfortunately after a night of imbibing I came to part with my beloved hat somewhere in the dark side streets of Eastern Europe. I missed it so much I elected to purchase another before the ice and snow blanket the land. This hat is my go to hat. Combines naturally with business attire and casual dress. This hat certainly keeps me warm when the icy cold Baltic winds gust in winter. The hat is only second to the exemplary service of Russian Legacy. Rest assured you are dealing with a professional whose work ethic reminds of days gone by.

Absolutely a perfect fit. Handsomely made, this hat will definitely be keeping my head warm in Butte, Montana. I ordered mine with the pull-down flap for extra ear protection. For those wondering, the hat will cover the tips of the ears easily. The flap is optional for those times when it's twenty or thirty below zero and will cover the entire ear. Soft and comfortable, worth the price!

You will not find this...
You will not find this hat elsewhere. The best quality. I own several hats from Russian Legacy and have given them as gifts too. They are perfect for winter. True sizes that fit well. Great value. I have seen versions made in Canada and elsewhere that do not compare. This is the authentic Astrakhan fur hat. It met my expectations fully. These hats go well with anything from wool coats to ski jackets, dress and casual, etc. As a repeat customer, i have been pleased in doing business each time. The Beaver Ushanka and the Astrakhan fur hats are my favorite from Russian Legacy. You will not find warmer hats.

I'm thoroughly delighted with this gloriously luxurious hat. It is sumptuously soft, snug and warm on the head and it's generous size allows it to be shaped to suit the wearer. I'm now well prepared for the coldest of British winters. If you'd like one, don't hesitate to order from Russian Legacy, as I've found them to be utterly trustworthy and efficient.
